Amanda Lara, Publishing Coordinator

Amanda Lara joined Simon & Schuster in 2023. Prior to joining S&S, Amanda worked at HarperCollins in publicity. Before her time at HarperCollins, Amanda interned at Folio Literary Management in the children’s & young adult division. She has also been involved in numerous inclusivity-focused mentorship programs within the publishing industry, including People of Color in Publishing, Inkluded, and the Representation Matters Mentor Program.

Amanda graduated from California State University, Long Beach, with a B.A. in English Education. While she reads broadly, Amanda is particularly passionate about narrative nonfiction, essay collections on pop culture & social issues, celebrity memoirs, and experimental genre fiction. When she’s not reading, Amanda is probably watching a Marvel movie.
