Jonathan Jao, Vice President and Editorial Director

Jonathan Jao joined Simon & Schuster in the fall of 2023 as Vice President and Editorial Director. He began his career as a Simon & Schuster summer intern in 1999. In 2002, he moved to Random House where he spent the next 12 years. From 2014-2023, he was Vice President and Executive Editor at HarperCollins. His focus is on nonfiction, particularly history, politics, biography, current affairs, and memoir. Among the writers he has published: Tim Alberta, Madeleine Albright, Douglas Brinkley, Ronald Brownstein, Amy Chozick, Yuval Harari, Max Hastings, Alistair Horne, Mark Lilla, William J. Mann, Gen.
